  • Available in two types, non-indicating and indicating.
  • This is why I prefer to use Indicating Silica Gel. Many of our customers are using this to dry flowers or electronics that have become water damaged. Normal Silica Gel is white, so it’s difficult to know when it is saturated with moisture. We recommend Orange Indicating Silica Gel Beads.
  • A uniform bead shape provides for a lower pressure drop and less abrasion than granular types of silica gel. Orange Silica Gel turns dark green or black when drying out is required, and Blue Silica Gel turns pink when it needs to be regenerated. Silica gel is a drying agent that often comes in the form of small, clear beads or clear rock crystals placed in small packets made of paper or cloth.
  • These are eluted from the beads and can subsequently be prepared for.

High moisture retention capacity under dynamic conditions, allowing heated desiccant dryers with a higher design capacity and lower regeneration temperature Cell lysis and ultracentrifugation yield purified, silica-bead-bound membrane proteins.

In air and gas drying applications, dew points of -40☏ and lower can be achieved with silica gel. Using top grade orange indicating Silica Gel in a compact and portable aluminum canister makes it one of the most versatile desiccant products on the market. Silica gel is also applied as a selective adsorbent for a wide-range of hydrocarbons, C02, siloxanes, sulfur, and many other compounds.īecause silica gel fractures in the presence of liquid water, it is often protected with a pre-bed of activated alumina. Silica gel is a spherical bread consisting of 97% silica and 3% alumina with a highly porous surface and a strong affinity for adsorbing water.
